All About Shapes!
Age: 3rd & 4th Grade

Students first worked in their sketchbooks and designed their own interpretation of a pattern using geometric shapes. We then discussed the difference between organic and geometric shapes. Students used oil pastels to create their own organic shape patterned paper. The young artists then received a container full of geometric shape paper cut outs and were instructed to construct something new with the paper. Finally, we discussed sequential narratives and storytelling. Students were challenged to create a narrative using shapes
