El Anatsui & Adinkra Printmaking
Age: 5-12

Students analyzed the work of West African artist, El Anatasui’s, and learned about African Adinkra symbols. In a similar fashion to El Anatsui, students used recycled Styrofoam to etch and design relief printmaking plates. Students combined, recreated, and re-imagined the symbols to create new personal meanings.
