Watercolor Painting
Age: 4th Grade
Fourth grade students were given various materials (q-tips, pippettes, salt, paint brushes, recycled materials) to experiment with liquid watercolors. Students were asked to record their findings in their sketchbook and to take note of any changes before and after drying. We then observed examples of stained glass windows on campus and around the world. For their final project students were asked to create their own watercolor stained glass window. Students used their new knowledge from their material exploration to inform their decisions about their project.
